On June 16, at the campus of Anh Sao Bridge in Phu My Hung Urban Area in District 7, a Pilot Day of Plastic Separation for Recycling was organized by Unilever Vietnam in collaboration with the People’s Committee of District 7.
This is a meaningful activity towards the goal of sorting waste at source, creating a new trend in environmental protection, and building the green economy and green life. As expected, the program will aim to collect 30,000 tons per year, divided into three phases:
Phase 1: Focusing on residential areas and schools in two wards, Tan Phong and Tan Phu, District 7
Phase 2: Deploying more in five other wards in District 7
Phase 3: County-wide implementation
This is a pilot activity to change consumption habits, so the People’s Committee of District 7, together with Unilever Company, Duytan Recycled Plastic Company, and other units, carry out many communication activities in the community, creating a spread of action in residential areas and among students.
At the opening ceremony of the program, the representative of the District 7 People’s Committee spoke about promoting waste separation activities at the source for small and large enterprises. To implement the project, the People’s Committee of District 7 and Unilever signed the MOU, starting a hopeful and developing relationship.
Representative of Unilever shared that this is a highly constructive project that needs contributions from many sides, especially from plastic waste collectors. Therefore, the contribution of DUYTAN Plastic Recycling Company will create a driving force to help perfect the circular economy model in plastic waste management in District 7. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to contribute to increasing receipts. educate people on the use of environmentally friendly recycled plastic packaging.
