In the first month of 2025, Unilever Vietnam and DUYTAN Recycling collaborated to organize a training program on plastic sorting, combined with donating over 600 sets of safety equipment to workers at waste collection facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai.

This marks the second consecutive year in the five-year journey of the “Plastic Collection & Recycling” project, which aims to achieve the following meaningful objectives:

– Promote waste sorting at the source: Equip communities with knowledge and skills for efficient plastic waste management from the very beginning.

– Enhance sustainable business practices: Support waste collection units in optimizing processes and improving working environments.

– Contribute to building a circular economy in Vietnam: Encourage the reuse and recycling of plastic waste to minimize environmental impact.

This year’s training program emphasizes the importance of sorting plastic waste at the source to optimize the recycling process and minimize negative environmental impacts. The collaboration between Unilever Vietnam and DUYTAN Recycling not only contributes to addressing environmental pollution but also promotes the development of a circular economy, creates jobs, and raises community awareness about the significance of plastic waste sorting and recycling.

On January 14, 2025, DTR attended the “U.S.-Vietnam Getting to Net-Zero” seminar organized by the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar gathered representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the U.S. Consulate, USAID, IFC, and many major enterprises. Key topics discussed included:

– Carbon Emission Management Support: The U.S. will provide resources and technology to help Vietnam measure and manage emissions effectively.
– Investment in Renewable Energy: USAID is investing $11 million to enhance the efficiency of renewable energy use in Ho Chi Minh City.
– Promoting Green Industrial Zones: Vietnam currently has 7 out of 400 industrial zones meeting ecological standards and over 500 green-certified buildings.

The seminar started with an opening speech by the U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasizing the importance of global partnerships in addressing climate change and promoting sustainability goals.

A major highlight of the event was the in-depth discussions on the roadmap for sustainable industrial development. Experts, organizations, and major enterprises from both the U.S. and Vietnam shared their knowledge and experiences on how to accelerate the transition to a green economy.

The seminar concluded with a presentation by a representative from the U.S. Department of Commerce, introducing initiatives to support Vietnam’s transition to Net-Zero. These initiatives aim to foster cooperation and provide the necessary tools and resources to accelerate Vietnam’s environmental goals.

On December 26, 2024, DUYTAN Recycling was honored to welcome a delegation from the U.S. Consulate to visit our factory.

The U.S. Consulate delegation included:

• Economic Section Chief
• Economic Officer
• Consular Officer, U.S. Consulate in Vietnam
• Specialist, U.S. Consulate in Vietnam

This meeting not only strengthened the cooperative relationship between DUYTAN Recycling and the U.S. Consulate but also provided an opportunity to share our achievements in recycling technology. The Consulate delegation expressed their deep impression with our modern recycling processes, particularly the “Bottle-to-Bottle” project, which turns used plastic bottles into new products, contributing positively to the circular economy and environmental protection in Vietnam.

On November 4 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade held the Vietnam Value 2024. The event was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh along with other members of the Party Central Committee, leaders from ministries, central agencies, and international representatives in Vietnam.

This year’s honorees are recognized as pioneers not only in economic growth but also in efforts to promote a green and sustainable future.

As a leading company in high tech plastic recycling in Vietnam, DUYTAN Recycling is on a mission to reduce environmental pollution, promote a circular economy, and raise community awareness about recycling. Over the years, DUYTAN Recycling has achieved remarkable accomplishments, with a current plant capacity of 60,000 tons per year, equivalent to over 4 billion plastic bottles recycled annually. Once Phase 3 is completed, DUYTAN Recycling’s designed capacity will reach an impressive 100,000 tons per year, equivalent to around 7 billion plastic bottles being collected and recycled. DUYTAN Recycling’s recycled plastic granules meet domestic demand and are exported to over 15 countries, proudly showcasing a Vietnamese enterprise capable of supplying high-quality recycled plastic to the international market.

Today, recycled plastic bottles with eco-friendly packaging are easily found in the market. While recycled plastic bottles are common in developed economies, DUYTAN Recycling’s “green bottle” carries significant meaning, as it is made from locally collected plastic waste, helping reduce pollution and promoting efficient resource use.
